Sex Worker Archives

Founded in 2017, we are a collective based out of Detroit, MI. Juniper Fleming and Zee St. James met as members of the SWOP MI chapter. We hope to provide a much needed space for our community to preservation and dissemination of our histories.

Juniper Fleming is an artist currently living in Detroit. She recieved her BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2014, and she is currently attaining her MFA in Photography at Cranbook Academy of Arts. She was awarded a Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) Fellowship in 2013. Her film, Predatory Prostitute has been screened in the 28th MIX NYC Queer Experimental Film Festival, the 2015 Sex Worker Film and Art Festival, XPOSED International Queer Film, and Berlin's Porn Film Festival. This past June, she also dipped her toes in theater, directing, producing, and performing in an all sex worker revival of Mae West's play, Sex, at Dixon Place Theater in NYC. She has been a member of both the NYC and Detroit Sex Worker Outreach Project for 8 years. She also does animal rescue in Detroit, and has 5 dogs of her own. A self-described ‘manic pixie dream whore’, Zee St. James is passionate about sex worker rights. Zee serves as secretary for the Michigan chapter of the Sex Worker Outreach Project, where they organize events and facilitate a peer-led support group. They are completing a Bachelor of Arts in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Zee has presented and participated in panels at several conferences, including La Academica del Pueblo, the Allied Media Conference, and the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference.
